I would help them with walking their dog, or taking out their trash, and helping them with yard work. If you are a good citizen it can make the world a better place. This is why we need to clean up after ourselves. I will respect our red, white, and blue flag. To me, this means that I can live in a free country. I will respect our President and respect the people who serve under him. I will respect our army people who protect us from harm. Someday I would like to be one of those people that will protect our country and what our flag stands for, Freedom. These are my duties as an American citizen.

If I see any garbage I will pick it up and throw it away. If I were old enough to vote, I would vote in every election. I would vote for the best candidate and for any laws that were on the ballot.

That means my whole family, friends, brother, and sister. I need to care about my teacher, family, friends and to many other people. I think it is important to be a good citizen because you should be loyal to your country. Being a loyal citizen means supporting the United States and standing for what is right. My duty as a citizen is working to make our community and our country a better place to live. I can carry out this duty by treating others kindly, helping others to be their best, and by volunteering my time to the community I carry out my duty by being a 4-h member. Our 4-h pledge is: "I pledge my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to longer service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world. One service my 4-h club provides is picking up litter at the Oakley Fairgrounds. Rewards of being a good citizen are a cleaner place to live, the right to vote, and the right to own a gun. The importance of being is to make good decisions for myself. I also think it's important to remember those people such as pilgrims, pioneers and soldiers.
Our duties as an American Citizen include obeying the laws, keeping America clean, and more importantly being kind to others. We can show kindness to others by being courteous with simple actions like holding the door open for others, letting them have the close parking stall, or letting a mother with children in line ahead of you. If there is someone new in your school they could use a good friend. Reach out to them. Show them where their class, the lunchroom, library and other places they might need to know. Then select a place they are familiar with to meet them later at lunch recess. They will look forward to the rest of the day knowing someone cares and is waiting to see them again. Every one needs a good friend. This Christmas our family was able to help with the Christmas Council. We were able to deliver food and gifts for those less fortunate. It was a rewarding experience for me because I became more aware of the bounteous blessings I have and realized life is not as tough as I might have thought. There were so many who are less fortunate and since then I have become more aware of others needs and now I look for opportunities to help and share with them the many blessings I have. It is when we do for others we learn to love them. America would be a better place if we as citizens could bring more peace and harmony through serving one another. It is our duty to care for others. I am proud to be an American.
My duty as an American Citizen, is being a boy scout. In boy scouts we have a scout lawe that says, "On my honor I'll do my duty to God and my country". The scout law helps me to be a good citizen. Being a scout also means doing service. Our troop puts out flags on special national holidays, like the 4th of July and President's Day. We also provide Thanksgiving dinners for families. Being a good citizen also means honoring the flag. As a scout, I've learned the history of the flag and what the stars and the stripes mean. I also learned how to present the flag and properly fold the flag. As a scout you also learn about keeping America beautiful. We learned the right way to build a fire, to not pollute, or litter. We learned to leave a camp ground cleaner than we found it. Being an American Citizen is a privilege. Each of us needs to do our duty for our country. Being a boy scout helps me to be a better citizen.
There are many duties that I have as an American citizen. I need to say that pledge of allegiance in the morning at school. I need to remember the freedoms that we have. I have the freedom of going to church where I want. I get to go to school where I want. I get to choose what I eat. I get to work where I want. In lots of countries they don't get the freedom to do that. I need to be a good neighbor. I shouldn't judge people by their skin color because they might feel offended. I should remember that we all look different on the outside but the same on the inside. We all have feeling, families, and dreams. I can be a good neighbor by respecting others property, being kind, and other things like that. I need to take care of the earth. I can take care of the earth by not littering, taking care of the school, picking up after myself, I can recycle, and keep my yard clean. I can be a good citizen by not doing drugs, and helping my friends say no. I can be a good citizen by doing all those things. I hope you can do those things and be a good citizen too.
