• Cassia County School District eye screening. These are held at six different schools. Grades kindergarten, first, third, fifth, sophmores, the Newcomer Center, and the special education classes are screened. Approximately 1350 students are screened yearly. Students who fail the eye screening are given a note explaining the screening and how to apply for financial help. The help is based on the financial needs of the family.
• Malta Health Fair where approximately 150 adults and children are screened.
• Cassia County Health Fair where approximately 900 people are screened.
• United Electric Health Fair where 75-100 adults and children are screened yearly.

Anytime during the year, Cassia County citizens are able to pick up an eye sight application form. The applicant completely fills out the application and returns it to any Lions Club member. These applications are reviewed by the eye sight committee and the board allocates money for the eye examination and glasses for the needy individuals.

The Burley Lions Club also collects used eye glasses which are sent to a distribution center for use all over the world. Collection boxes are located in several businesses in the Burley area.

The Burley Lions Club has also become involved with a screening program for the Special Olympics. Through a grant made available by LCIF, all Lions Clubs will become involved in this special program. One member of the Burley Lions Club has travelled to Mexico City to be trained as the trainer for the State of Idaho.

Several Cateracts, corneal translplant, and ptergyium surgeries have been funded in part by the Burley Lions Club.
