Burley Lions Eye Screening Story #1

A most memorable event happened several years ago at the Mini-Cassia health fair when a middle-aged man was screened. The screener determined this gentleman was not seeing clearly out of one eye. The screener then referred this individual to a local eye doctor. The local eye doctor determined the individual had a tumor on the optic nerve. This person was sent to Portland, Oregon to a Neuro brain surgeon. Since that time the individual has passed away.

In a letter to the local eye doctor the Neuro brain surgeon stated, "due to the screening by the Burley Lions Club, this gentleman was able to live several more years because of the earlier detection of this brain tumor".
