Below are a few images from the luncheon on Saturday May 17, 2003

During the luncheon our keynote speaker was Roger Reese, aka; Buford T. Fuddwhacker. At one point Buford asked the audience where the phrase: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" originates. Lion Pat Campbell, was the only one in the audience who knew the answer and thereby received one of Buford's many promotional gifts.

Lion Gordon Blair, with the help of Lion Glen Kunau looking on, then proceeded to see if he could figure out how the thing worked.

Once he figured it out, he decided to put it to good use.

With very little encouragement, Lion Truman Bradley then decided to use the prop to try out for "Whos Line Is It Anyway?"

Lion Dave Jones, who came with his family, made his way down to the party table to see what all the fuss was about. Lion Pat inquired whether or not he needed a good slap in the face?

I guess Buford ended up generating a few smiles.

He had us standing up, dancing in the aisles, playing the kazoo, while interjecting his message on how to enhance your life and be more successful.

When Lion Cliff Hanks grabbed the mid-air bug whacker from the fellows, to have a turn with it, he accidently triggered it on some gals behind that was walking behind him. Though he didn't turn around, he was told if he had, he would have enjoyed a memorable glance/stare. (No pictures are available of this moment however)

After the luncheon concluded, Lion Cliff was hailed by two members of the audience who were visiting from the Idaho State School for the Deaf & Blind. They were Dr. Angel Ramos, the superintendent of the School, and a teacher, Roddy Cabbage. Cliff proceeded to translate the subsequent meeting and dinner event for these two visitors, because no ASL interpreters had otherwise been arranged for in advance.

They came for the purpose of soliciting donations for an annual Deaf camp that Roddy leads near Stanley Idaho every year.

Lion Harry Granger, in the next meeting, auctioned off his Bob the Builder doll, with the proceeds going toward this camp. The Boise Syringa Lions club won the bidding and gave the doll to Dr. Ramos, and Sonny, to take back to the kids. Also visiting with Dr. Ramos was his lovely wife, who managed to avoid the camera somehow.

Later that evening, we were served a nice meal. Ugly things happen when you stick a plate in front of a Lion.

As usual, other less flattering photo's of attendees, in various states of undress, and inebriation, are being held in reserve. They will be released however, if circumstances merit their release, or in the case of a subpoena.
